Some client stories
Janet contacted us after her father passed away without a Will. She worried that no one formally appointed could deal with the assets in his estate, particularly the bank accounts. After going back and forth with the Courts, we worked to get Janet appointed as the executor, which allowed us to then liaise with the bank and other institutions involved in the estate. All funds were released promptly to Janet, and we assisted in making sure they were distributed to the relevant beneficiaries.
John contacted us after his mother had sadly passed away. He was one of three siblings. His mother passed away with a Will which appointed John as Executor, with the property to be split equally amongst the three siblings. However, the siblings wished the property to be made over to just one of them as a reflection of the time that one sibling had committed to looking after his mother when she was ill. As a result and as agreed by all parties, we prepared a Deed of Variation, which varied the terms of the Will. This allowed the property to be made over to one sibling only, with the remaining estate made over equally amongst the siblings.
Craig came to us after his friend had suddenly passed away. He was the appointed Executor of the Will, and his friend had died in Thailand after very recently moving over there. The issue was that his assets were spread across Thailand and Scotland, and the beneficiaries involved were located all over the globe in Canada and Australia. After much communication with the British consulate, liaising with the appointed Thai solicitor and doing all we could to realise the Thai assets, we successfully dealt with the assets both in Scotland and Thailand. We then contacted every international beneficiary, ingathered all estate assets, and successfully arranged payments.

I spoke to Ailidh to discuss my mums estate. She was amazing and put me at ease straight away, explaining how everything works and the steps she will take etc. I had already spoken to another solicitor and knew within minutes of talking to Ailidh who I wanted to choose!
